This accession consists of two websites maintained by the Office of Advancement as they existed in June 2011. The Friends of the Smithsonian website, crawled on June
20, 2011, and the James Smithson Society website, crawled on June 29, 2011, both provide information about membership programs and list special events for members. The James
Smithson Society is the highest level of membership within the Friends of the Smithsonian and its website features information specific to the Society. The Friends of the
Smithsonian website promotes all of its membership levels. Some content is duplicated between the websites. Materials are in electronic format.
This accession consists of three websites maintained by the Office of Advancement.
The "Ultimate Smithsonian Challenges" website, crawled on July 18, 2018, consists of three quizzes about various aspects of the Smithsonian Institution. Due to technical
issues, the quizzes are incomplete in this accession.
The Friends of the Smithsonian website provides information about membership programs and lists special events for members. The James Smithson Society, the highest level
membership program, is a separate website that provides information specifically about its own program. Files for both websites were transferred from the server after the
websites were taken offline.
In addition, this accession includes a section of the primary Smithsonian Institution website that served as a central location for giving. The section includes information
related to donating to the Smithsonian, including planned, corporate, and foundation giving as well as memberships. Files for this section were transferred from the server
after it was converted into a separate website.
This accession consists of the Smithsonian Craft Show website, maintained by the Smithsonian Women's Committee, as it existed on January 13, 2016. The website publicizes
one of the Committee's annual juried craft show fundraisers, schedule to be held between April 21 and 24, 2016. Due to technical issues, some video content may not be included
in this accession. Materials are in electronic format.
This accession consists of two websites maintained by the Smithsonian Women's Committee. The Smithsonian Craft2Wear website, crawled October 6, 2017, and the Smithsonian
Craft Show website, crawled April 27, 2018, publicize the Committee's two annual juried craft show fund raisers. Both websites were crawled during the weekend of the show.
