This accession consists of correspondence, reports, invitations, press releases, photographs, negatives, budgets, receipts, and newspaper and magazine clippings documenting
two special events - the Listen, Look, Learn lunch program and the annual Christmas/Holiday dance - and the Smithsonian Craft Show, 1993, and Washington Craft Shows, 1983-1992.
Most of the records consist of project files documenting projects funded by the Women's Committee, and consist of committee reports, project lists, acceptance and rejection
letters, budgets, financial records, and miscellaneous correspondence.

This accession consists of records created and maintained by Donald S. Lopez, Deputy Director, documenting the administration of the National Air and Space Museum (NASM).
Lopez held various positions at the National Air and Space Museum beginning in 1972 and became Deputy Director in 1983. Lopez retired in 1990, but came back to the position
of Deputy Director in 1996, a position which he held until his death in 2008. In between stints as Deputy Director, Lopez continued to be closely involved in the activities
of the Office of the Director. The majority of the records document the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, development efforts, and NASM's National Board. Materials include correspondence,
memoranda, agendas, meeting minutes, reports, information files, and related materials.

This accession consists of records that document the administrative activities of Ira Michael Heyman and Lawrence M. Small during their tenures as Secretary of the
Smithsonian Institution, respectively. The records document issues with regard to the Institution's museums and staff, exhibitions, fundraising, and special events. Materials
include correspondence and final submissions for construction of the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI).
This accession consists of records that document the administration and activities of the Smithsonian Photography Initiative (SPI). Records cover the creation of SPI
and its history, funding, and creative projects. Materials include correspondence, meeting notes, reports, funding and project proposals, exhibition materials, budgets, brochures,
and news clippings. Some materials predate the establishment of SPI and were created under the International Art Museums Division.
This accession consists of materials documenting the history of the Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) and its activities in support of the National Zoological Park
(NZP) and the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI). As a nonprofit partner of NZP and SCBI, FONZ raises funds for mission support, manages a large volunteer force,
and creates and conducts a wide variety of educational products and programs. Many of the materials in this accession document not just the history of FONZ, but the history
of NZP and SCBI as well. Materials include images, clippings, brochures, maps, books, informational packages, educational activities, volunteer training materials, event invitations,
meeting agendas, videotapes, development files for educational exhibits, patches, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.

These records were created mostly by administrators Rohlfing, Dobkin, and Dunne. They document the activities of the Museum Advisory Board and the acquisitions committee
and contain files on fundraising, membership, product development, sales, education, collections management, and exhibitions. The records also include audit reports and annual
reports; grant proposals; architectural plans of the Miller House; and public relations files, including news clippings from the reopening of the Museum in 1976. In addition,
the records contain periodic budget projections and reports for the programs, administrative departments, and payroll of the Museum dating from 1983 to 1988, along with the
memoranda and spreadsheets which document their development.
Historical Note:
In 1963 the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art trustees announced that the Cooper Union Museum for the Arts of Decoration would be closed, and Director
Calvin S. Hathaway resigned. Curator of Exhibitions H. Christian Rohlfing was named Acting Administrator, and in this capacity he helped to guide the Museum's transfer to
the Smithsonian Institution in 1968. In 1969 Rohlfing became Administrator of the renamed Cooper-Hewitt Museum, and in fiscal year 1972 he assumed the dual title of Administrator
and Curator of Collections. John H. Dobkin became Program Management Officer in FY 1974 and was appointed Administrator in FY 1975. Dobkin and Rohlfing both held the title
of Administrator until FY 1978, when Dobkin resigned and Rohlfing relinquished the post to assume purely curatorial responsibilities. The position of Administrator was vacant
until FY 1979, when Daniel O'Leary became Assistant Director for Administration and Barbara V. Foss and Peter M. Scherer were appointed Administrative Assistants to the Director.
O'Leary left the next year, and Foss was replaced by Chauncie McKeever in FY 1981. In FY 1983 McKeever left, Scherer was appointed Special Assistant to the Director, and Linda
Dunne was named Administrator. Scherer left in FY 1984.

materials. Some files pre-date Chang's tenure and were likely acquired from other staff.

The Eye Level blog is dedicated to American art and the ways in which the nation's art reflects its history and culture. The blog was opened in September 2005.
The informational website for the exhibition, The Art of Video Games, asked the public to vote for video games to be included in the exhibition which ran from March
16 through September 30, 2012. The website chronicles the process of choosing the video games as well as provides information about the exhibition.

This accession consists of the National Air and Space Museum website and mobile website as they existed on April 22, 2013. The website includes information about visiting
the museum's facilities, special events, exhibitions, collections, staff, donations, and membership as well as educational resources, histories of various aspects of the museum,
press releases, annual reports, and online exhibitions. The Washington, D.C. museum, the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, and the Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration, and
Storage Facility are all documented in this single website. The mobile website includes much of the same content, but its design is optimized for viewing on a mobile device.
Also included in this accession is the museum's blog, "AirSpace: Behind the Scenes at the National Air and Space Museum," which was crawled April 22, 2013. The blog provides
a place for staff to write about their behind the scenes work from their own points of view. The blog was opened in March 2009.
In addition, this accession includes the "How Things Fly" website, crawled in two pieces on April 30 and May 1, 2013. The website explains the basic principles that allow
aircraft and spacecraft to fly. It is a companion website to the physical exhibition of the same name.
This accession consists of the Smithsonian Craft2Wear portion of the Smithsonian Women's Committee website. These pages were crawled on October 5, 2016, shortly before
