General:
For this hillside location on Oakridge Avenue, Lois W. Poinier designed a multi-level terrace. One level provided a patio for outdoor living and incorporated one of Poinier's signature fountains, in this case a wall fountain featuring two squirrels as a decorative element. The second, lower, level was a lawn edged by garden borders. Existing stone walls were retained if possible, although a tree was removed to make way for steps leading to the upper terrace flanked by a stuccoed wall to match the house. Azaleas, dogwoods, and spring flowering bulbs provided colorful accents in spring. Before and after images are included.
Persons associated with the garden include: Lois W. Poinier (garden designer) and Charles Edgar Graham Reeves and Joan Mallory Reeves (former owners).

General:
This garden's design was a joint project of Helen Page Wodell and Lois W. Poinier. The owners of this site on Minnisink Road wanted a garden that would be at its peak in spring and they weren't disappointed. In addition to beds of tulips, bleeding heart, and other flowers, dogwoods and various shrubs provided a bridge to surrounding trees. Large, natural rocks defined a pond adjacent to a small lawn.
Persons associated with the garden include: Helen Page Wodell (garden designer); Lois W. Poinier (garden designer); and Edward Bancroft Twombly and Mildred Hadra Twombly (former owners).

General:
This was a large, multi-faceted project for a multi-lavel property. At the rear of the house story-high circular walls defined two patio areas on an upper level, while also semi-enclosing a third space at ground level. This lower patio opened onto a lawn leading to a pond created as part of the project. Low stone walls provided additional definition for this lower space. Plantings included a fast-growing Callery pear to provide shade for this sunny side of the house. At the front of the house and along the driveway a variety of flowering trees and shrubs provided an orderly arrangement further articulated by vertical stones separating these planting areas from the roadway.
Persons associated with the garden include Lois W. Poinier (garden designer) and Bryson Woods (former owner).
