This album, entitled "The Way It Looks," contains 146 photographic prints taken by Frank Churchill between 1899 and 1900 and later compiled by Clara Churchill. Most of the photographs were taken in Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma) with many shot in and around Muskogee where Churchill was living during his time as a revenue collector to the Cherokee Nation. There are also images from Missouri and Kansas. The photographs are not arranged in chronological order (see the chronology for a timeline). Locations (Indian Territory unless otherwise indicated) represented in this album include—Muskogee, Fort Gibson, Vinita, Spavinaw, Marble, Sallisaw, Dawson, Saratoga (MO) Fairland, Noel (MO), Cowskin Creek (MO), Southwest City (MO), Adair, Blue Jacket, Oologah, Chelsea, Afton, Pryor Creek, Coffeyville (KS), Tahlequah, Manard, Claremore and Caloosa.
Photographs taken in and around Muskogee include—Inspectors offices, Inspectors Frank C. Churchill and Guy Cobb (inspector to the Creek Nation), U.S. Marshall J.C.C. Rogers; Chief Isparhecher (Muskogee Creek); Agents J. Blair Shoenfelt (agent to the Seminole), Zevely and Wright with Mrs. Bixby; Mrs. Clara Churchill with Miss Severs, Mr. Dana, Mr. Von Weise, Betty (Muskogee Creek) and Mrs. Tuttle; government offices, Dawes commission buildings; Alfred Taylor, D.H. Kelsey (clerk), Col. Dew M. Wisdom, Cullen and Wells; Muskogee Court House; Churchill's deputies B.P. Rasmus, W.S. Irvin, P.L. Soper, N.L. Ryder; U.S. Marshalls Wells and Talbert; Blanche Oppenheimer (stenographer) at the US Indian Office; Hotel Early and various views of the town. Photographs in Fort Gibson include—Chief Bushyhead's former house; Commanders residence; National Cemetery; and Barracks. Other photographs of note include—The National Hotel in Tahlequah; Niven's Ferry on the Arkansas River; images of "Movers"; horse traders; and oil fields in Chelsea.

This album contains 143 photographic prints taken by Frank Churchill in June-October 1905 at various locations in Alaska and Siberia. Churchill was appointed as Special Agent, by President Roosevelt, to investigate the condition of the school service and reindeer domestication in Alaska. The album was later compiled and captioned by Clara Churchill. Locations visited while on the U.S. Revenue Cutter "Bear" include—Nome, St. Lawrence Island, Siberia, St. Nicholas Trading Post, Diomedes Islands, Teller and Point Barrow. Photographs in and around Nome include—Views of the "Bear" from the shore; Views of the Bering Sea; Street views in Nome; Nome Arctic Railroad; Anvil Creek gold mine; Captain Hamlet (of the "Bear") panning for gold; Inupiaq camp and sand spit with Mrs. Churchill; Golovin Mission; and Views on the "Bear" of Lieutenant Mead, Captain Hamlet and Engineer Dorrie. Photographs from St. Lawrence Island include—U.S. School and its buildings; Native man in duck skin parka; Group of Yuit (Siberian Yup'ik) children; Mrs. Churchill and Mr. Hamilton.

This album contains 71 photographic prints taken by William Thomas (W.T.) Lopp, Superintendent of government schools (Native) and Reindeer in Alaska (1904-1909), in 1906 and 1909-1910. The album was later compiled and captioned by Clara Churchill. W.T. Lopp accompanied the Churchills on their journey in Alaska in 1905 but none of the photographs in this album were taken during that trip. Locations photographed in Alaska include—Wainwright, Icy Cape, Cold Bay, Umiak Pass, Cape Thompson, Norton Sound, Illiana, Chiqnik, Yukon River, Sitka, Nome, Unalakleet and Point Barrow. People photographed by Lopp include—Reindeer Mary (Changunak Antisarlook Andrewuk), Inupiat, and her family; Dr. and Mrs. Norton in Nulato; Reindeer herders and their families in Norton Sound; and W.T. Lopp's deer team including driver Johnny Auterky. Additional views and events include—U.S. Revenue Cutter "Volante" off Icy Cape; U.S. Revenue Cutter "Thetis" off Point Barrow and Wainwright; a Fourth of July boat race on the Snake River; S.S. Portland wrecked at Katalla (November 1910); and Native made boats and totems. There are several photographs of Lopp himself where the photographer is unknown. There are also several newspaper clippings at the end of the album about Reindeer Mary.

This album contains 44 photographic prints taken by William Hamilton of the Bureau of Education during his time in Alaska on the U.S. Revenue Cutter "Bear" with Frank and Clara Churchill from July to September 1905. The album was later compiled and captioned by Clara Churchill. Locations in Alaska visited on the "Bear" and photographed include—Wainwright, Unalaska (Aleutian Islands), Seldovia, Sitka, Point Barrow, Teller, Kotzebue Sound, Point Hope and Afgonak. Additional locations include Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada and views of the Siberian Coast (Russia) and St. Nicholas Island. The photographs taken aboard the "Bear" include—images of Quartermaster Chris "Slim" Johnson; Nanny (goat) and Jolly (Captain Hamlet's dog); Engineer Dorry; an Inupiaq boy asleep on the deck; and "Hooligan Alley" (spar deck). Additional people photographed by Hamilton include—Jim Brower, Captain O.C. Hamlet, W.T. Lopp and Frank C. Churchill in Wainwright; Reverend and Mrs. Springs, Frank C. Churchill, Mr. and Mrs. Kilbuck and Jim Brower in Point Barrow; Bishop Rower and Dr. Driggs in Point Hope; and Captain Hamlet with Jolly in Dutch Harbor.
