Join us as we go with the team of the E/V Nautilus as they explore the underwater crash site of the USS Macon, a rigid airship that crashed off the California coast on February 12, 1935. The Macon operated as a flying aircraft carrier deploying Curtiss F9C-2 Sparrowhawks during the early 1930s. The E/V Nautilus’s expedition will explore and map the wreck site as well as recover a piece of the aluminum frame for corrosion studies. This program is made possible through the generous support of Boeing.
