Illustrated title page depicts a tutor and a pupil (caricatures of Campbell and Nicholls) in the basket of a hot air balloon (named "Enterprise") in flight. Enterprise was the name of a balloon for John Cheyne's proposed voyage to the arctic. Tied to the balloon are a bellows, telescope, anchor, grill, and ring buoy. Signed "Wm. Spalding. Lith"
