Summary:
View of Elizabeth Street in New York City, with the small watchman's box standing between the Methodist Meeting House on the right, and a row of buildings on the left, the residents of which are identified in the inscription. In 1812, no. 41 Elizabeth Street was occupied by a cabinetmaker named John Jungerick. In 1810 and in 1812, no. 45 Elizabeth Street was occupied by a grocer named Sarah Piggot. A John Mount is listed as a cartman. The buildings and street are covered in snow, and watchman walking down the street leaves a trail of footprints from the sidewalk to the street.
