Summary:
Portrait of Anne Willing Bingham seated in a red damask chair, her body turned to the left, her gaze directed toward the viewer, and her left index finger marking her place in a book held in her left hand. She wears a black dress with white trim around the short sleeves and on the neckline. Around her neck she wears a gold medallion adorned with blue and white stones, and she wears gold hoop earrings adorned with blue stone. Her curly brown hair is loosely pulled back with a braid around the crown of her head.
