Summary:
Self-portrait of the artist standing with his body turned slightly to the right, his face turned three-quarters to the right with his gaze directed toward the viewer, and a lit pipe held in his mouth. At his waist he holds a rag and a collection of brushes, each dipped in different colored paint. He wears a brown corduroy jacket and a white shirt. In the background on the left there is a pedestal with a sculpture of an eagle holding prey in its talons, and on the right there is a sketch of a circus ballerina standing beside her white horse.
