Summary:
Interior scene depicting a young woman seated in the center of a sparsely furnished room, her body turned in profile to the right, her gaze directed off to the right, and knitting held in her hands. She wears a long white dress and a blue Chinese jacket. Behind her at the back of the room are two open windows framed by louvered shutters. Between the windows a bronze cast of Bela Lyon Pratt's "Artemis" rests atop a Japanese chest with an oval mirror hanging on the wall above it. On the far right, a basket of fruit rests atop a small tripod table covered with an embroidered tablecloth.
