Summary:
A mustached Union Civil War soldier stands at parade rest wearing a military uniform that includes a knee-length coat, a cape, and a cap. He holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands. The butt of the rifle is placed in front of his proper right foot. The figure stands upon an inscribed, multitiered base. Near the monument are three cannons and a flagpole.
