Summary:
Three standing full-length figures. In the center is the figure of Louis L. Redding, an adult black man. To his proper right is the figure of a young black boy, and to Redding's proper left is the figure of a young white girl. Redding is standing with his arms down and slightly away from his side, and his hands are open and resting on the backs of the children. Redding is dressed in a suit, the boy in a polo shirt and slacks, and the girl in a dress. The boy holds two books at his side in his proper right hand and his proper left hand is in his pocket. The girl holds a book at her side in her proper left hand.
