Summary:
The memorial consists of eight triangular columns inscribed with fifteen excerpts from ten of Kerouac's books. Each triangular column is constructed with three red granite panels attached to a steel frame. The columns are installed in a plaza paved with stones that are set in patterns incorporating a cross and a mandala motif --to symbolize Kerouac's spritual quest. Throughout the plaza there are curved granite benches opposite the triangular columns.
