Summary:
"This is a larger than life size bronze memorial to President James A. Garfield that stands atop a sloped stone base. The base sits on a low two-stepped circular platform of pink granite with four equally spaced arced planters of the same granite. Garfield is standing facing east with his proper right foot forward. He is dressed in a knee-length over coat that has been left open exposing traditional attire with a double breasted jacket. In his proper right hand is a multi-paged document held close to his body. His proper left hand is extended outward with his palm down. He has neatly trimmed full beard and is hatless. Architectural detailing resembling a classical cornice encircles base near its top."
