Caption from Torch: "Holding the 1978 Education Awards presented to the Zoo by the American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums are (from left) Office of Education staffers Judy Herman, Judith White and Marlene Robinson. The plaques recognized significant achievement in Zoolab, a family learning center, and the fourth grade Washington D.C., school program. The Zoo also received the distinguished Edward H. Bean Award, presented by the Association for the most notable birth of the year, a second-generation orangutan."
