At the turn of the century, when the Corcoran was moved to its present quarters the original statues were sold and eventually ended up at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens where they can be seen today. Professor Renato Lucchetti, an Italian sculptor and stone carver who has been doing restoration work at the Smithsonian made the copies by casting the originals."
