Summary:
Consists of records documenting the administrative activities of the Assistant Secretary for Education and Public Service during the tenures of William W. Warner, Assistant Secretary for Public Service (Acting), 1968, and Assistant Secretary, 1969-1971; Julian T. Euell, Assistant Secretary for Public Service (Acting), 1972, and Assistant Secretary, 1973-1983; Peter Seitel, Assistant Secretary for Public Service, 1983-1984; Ralph Rinzler, Assistant Secretary for Public Service, 1984-1990, and Assistant Secretary Emeritus, 1990-1994; and James C. Early, Assistant Secretary for Public Service, 1990-1992, Assistant Secretary for Education and Public Service, 1992-1994, and Assistant Provost for Educational and Cultural Programs, 1995. Some materials were created after the position was abolished, but document a continuation of programs and activities.
