Orig. local. inside frieze of the cella of the Temple of Apollo, at Phigallia, in Arcadia. Date, soon after Phidias. Cast from the Phigalian Marbles, Brit. Museum. Presented by E.E. Salisbury. [P. 14; exhibited under heading: "Gallery of Sculpture" and preceded by a statement indicating that many of the sculptures in this gallery were cast from Parthenon originals.]
Catalogue of Works of Art in the Permanent and Loaned Collections of the Yale School of Fine Arts, founded as a Department of Yale College, by the late Augustus Russell Street. Winter Exhibition. The Galleries are open daily, Mondays excepted, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. For the purpose of defraying the running expenses of the exhibition, a single admission fee of 10 cents is charged.
