As a painter of still-life, objects of bric-a-brac, drapery, etc., Leclaire sustains a considerable reputation. There is much solidity, as well as delicacy of execution, in the objects represented in the composition--Japanese vase, flowers, and minor accessories--and above all, the idea of breadth is well maintained throughout.
