"After the death of Mary Stuart, Margaret Lambrun (whose husband, a follower of the queen of scots, had also been executed) attempted the life of Queen Elizabeth in the garden at Hampton Court. Ere she had accomplished her purpose, her disguise was discovered, which caused her arrest. The queen subsequently pardoned her." Vide Strickland's "Lives of the Queens of England." [Pp. 9-10.]
