Bark Characteristics:
Red-brown with thin, peeling platelets.
Cone Characteristics:
Pollen cones: light red; end of April to June. Seed cones: violet when young, pendant and red brown when mature. About 2" long. Ripen in October and November.
Foliage Characteristics:
Needles are dark green on top with 2 white stomatal lines on the bottom. Needles are blunt to slightly pointed, and .3-1.5" long.

Description:
The Serbian spruce now remains in only a few parts of its native habitat. It has, however, taken well to Midwestern American growing regions. Its branches sweep upward at the ends.
