Description:
The renter of post office box number 197 at the Hollidaysburgh, Blair County, Pennsylvania, post office received this payment record rendered for the lease period “Oct. 1 to Jan. 1, 1879.” Although he did not sign the receipt, John Gorley served as postmaster of the Hollidaysburgh Post Office from its establishment on February 26, 1846, until it changed to the Hollidaysburg Post Office in 1892.
