Animal entered and swam up canal to Gatun locks where it was killed. tl 98 ft. ;
Mitchell Hedges 1924:20-21 [Mitchell Hedges, F. A. (1924). Battles with giant fish. Boston, Small, Maynard and Company.] He says it was towed out to sea, restranded, towed again, bombed by US Army planes, pieces of it came ashore at Santa Isabel near Nombre de Dios, 60 miles down the coast. Mitchell Hedges presented some vertebrae to BM(NH).
