This object is part of the Education and Outreach collection, some of which are in the Q?rius science education center and available to see.
Geologic Age:
Cenozoic - Neogene - Pliocene
Notes:
These specimens are fragments of various fossil shell casts. These shells filled with mud and/or clay, and now that filling material is all that remains. They were found from a quarry, which is usually an open pit where rocks, minerals, gravel and more are excavated from the ground. Each measures around 7 cm x 6 cm x 4 cm in size or less.
