Notes:
A female fabric doll from Senegal wearing brightly colored clothes. Her dress is made from a number of different pieces of dyed cloth sewn together and she wears a tall hat of similar material. She is wearing the colorful patchwork clothing associated with Bay Fall members of the Mouride Sufi Islamic sect which originated in Senegal. Her face is stitched with cotton thread and she wears gold colored plastic jewelry. On her back there is the head of a baby wrapped into her clothes, with one of her hands positioned to support it. The doll's body is made of a wire frame padded and covered with fabric. She is one of a pair with a matching male doll (400659).
