Notes:
This fossilized vertebra is from the spine of an elasmobranch fish, which is a shark whose skeleton is made of cartilage. This cylindrical vertebra exhibits growth rings, which indicate the age range of the shark. Shark vertebrae, for example, have concentric and opaque bands like this one. This vertebra has a 2.5cm diameter and a 3.75cm height.
