"FATHER" DOLL. PART OF A SET INCLUDING FATHER, MOTHER (CAT.# 427387), AND CHILD (CAT.# 427388). WOODEN HEAD AND LEGS. DRESSED IN A PARKA OF GROUND SQUIRREL FUR, TRIMMED WITH CARIBOU FUR AND RED WOOL. SKIN BOOTS (PROBABLY SEALSKIN) AND GLOVES (APPEAR TO BE TANNED LEATHER). CARRYING A WOODEN BOW IN HIS LEFT HAND, WOODEN ARROW IN HIS RIGHT HAND, SEALSKIN BAG ON HIS BACK, AND A SKIN SHEATH WITH BALEEN KNIFE TIED AROUND HIS WAIST. MADE BY ETHEL WASHINGTON, SUMMER, 1950, FOR SALE TO TOURISTS. (NOTE: MATERIALS IDENTIFIED BY STEPHEN LORING, ARCTIC STUDIES CENTER, 1996).
