From Card: "Round bottomed, open top with flap on each side. Made of black velvet with similar white bordered floral design on each side. Lined with black and brown cotton. Split on side, lining worn and some beads gone. Though came directly from a Cherokee woman 1864-65, it is a typically N. E. Woodlands type". Identified as probable Iroquois type by Robin McBride Scott, Cherokee mat/basket maker, 12-6-2007
