Included with the specimen is a note in Spanish (source is not known): "26 puntas de orejas de llamas, corderos o vicuñas, que indican los corderos enviados a la dueña, la Sra. de Perrin." Translated: "Twenty-six ear tips from llamas, lambs, or vicuñas, that indicate [or show] the lambs sent to the owner [of the estate], Señora [Mrs.] de Perrin."
