Description:
This coin balance has a box with a drawer, which supports the brass pillar. The beam is iron. The two pans, one round and one triangular, are brass. The pulley cord that lifts the pan is broken and the weight, in shape of a lion, is inside the drawer in its recess. There are 27 coin weights, square-tapered style, and 1 fraction weight, inside a recess with a hinged lid. There is also a smaller, hand-held coin balance, made of brass and with two round pans. The balance is unmarked. The weights are marked with the name of the coins with which they correspond.
