Description (Brief):
David (the Bubble Boy) Vetter's Space Suit was made for him by the Johnson Space Center. David was born in 1971 with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID). He lived in a germ-free environment for most of his life. David died February 22, 1984 following an unsuccessful bone marrow transplant., an attempt for his body to make its own antibodies. David's space suit, made especially for him, allowed him to leave his isolation chamber where he lived his entire life. For brief periods of time this space suit enabled David to play with his sister and explore his backyard.
