Detached folio from a dispersed copy of Khamsa (Quintet) by Nizami; Persian in black nasta'liq script; recto: text, two columns, eleven lines; verso: text, inscription in the margin, two columns, eleven lines; one of a group of four folios.
Border: The recto is set in gold, purple, blue, and red rulings on colored paper with floral and animal motifs, marginal cartouches, and medallions containing animal figures; the verso is set in purple, gold, and blue rulings on colored paper with floral motifs, cartouches, and marginal medallions with animal figures.
