Detached folio from a dispersed copy of Salaman u Absal by Jami; text: Persian in black nasta'liq script; recto: text, four columns, twenty-one lines, headings in gold, red and blue; verso: text, four columns, twenty-one lines, inscription in the margin reads "The library of the khan of high merit."
Border: The recto is set in gold and black rulings and a green outer frame with floral motifs mounted on purple-colored paper; the verso is set in gold, black, and blue rulings and a deep red outer frame with floral motifs and marginal cartouches, mounted on cream-colored paper.
Inscriptions:
Verso: in margin: "the library of the Khan of high merit."
