Abstract:
This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1964, on the Leeward Survey (Leewards Islands, Hawaii). Materials include at sea daily observations summary, fix data sheets, bird observation data, and climatological data. Bird observations data sheets include entries for time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Remarks include phase (light or dark), physical observations (color, size, some sketches of bird wing markings), and behavior (feeding, flock, etc.). Fix data sheets include entries for date, time, sunset time, position sunset, time of fix, type of fix, longitude, and latitude. Additional data sheets recorded time, lat., long., pres wea, vis, slp, dry b, wet b, dew pt, hum%, tl sky, opa sky, waves, sea temp, wind s, wind d, course, speed.
