This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea in 1964 by the Bureau of Commercial Fisheries (BCF) aboard the Townsend Cromwell, as part of the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. The cruise covered a fixed grid to the east of the main Hawaiian Islands. Materials include: survey chart sheets, bird observation sheets, and barometric and weather data. At sea survey chart A lists summary data including: total abundance of birds, abundance of certain birds (Shearwater-Petrel-Albatross group, Tropicbirds, etc.), and abundance of flocks. At sea survey chart B lists date, position and distance data. Bird observation sheets list time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Also includes non-original materials including a typed report and photocopied maps of the cruise route.
