Notes, calculations, or illustrations are usually on the right hand side. Entries detail weather, daily activities, observed flora and fauna (i.e. quantity and types of fish found in waters), measurements,. Many of the measurements and calculations focus on three mountains: Fairweather, Edgecomb [Edgecumbe], and Crillon. Other locations include the vicinity of Port Mulgrave and Chignik Bay.
