Abstract:
This field book consists of five sections of greenhouse notes on cacti by Joseph Nelson Rose. Locations include: Arizona, Texas, California, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, North Carolina, Panama, South Carolina, Utah, Cuba, Brazil, Haiti, Florida, and other locations. The first section includes greenhouse notes on cacti from August to December 1909. Entries list: numbers (09.241 through 09.533); scientific name; location; and names, possibly of collectors. The second section of the book includes a plant list from the U.S. National Herbarium in 1910. Entries list: numbers (10.1 through 10.535; scientific name; location; and names, possibly of collectors. The third section of the book includes a list of plants collected by Rose with Standly and Russell, February to April 1910. Entries list: numbers (10.1001 through 10.1198); scientific name; location; habitat notes; and date. Some entries include other numbers (probably collector numbers), listing 12215 through 15003. The fourth section consists of a list of temperature readings. The fifth section includes a list of plants, United States National Herbarium, 1911. Entries list: numbers (11.1 through 11.511); scientific name; location; and names, possibly of collectors. The final section of the book includes a list of plants for years 1913 through 1916. Entries list: numbers (13.1 through 18.02); scientific name; location; and names, possibly of collectors. Some entries include other numbers (probably collector numbers), not in ascending order.
