Contains correspondence relating to presence and habitat of birds in South America, with illustrations of birds relating to text. Notes are dated and include location. Pages are numbered. Entries include notations, daily observations with time of day. Locations include area in Colombia in the vicinity of Paramo la Negra, Sierra de Merida, Paramo de Guasca, Bogotá, Agua Bonita, Puracé and Pico Espejo (in Andes of Venezuela).
