Description:
Printed proof of an illustration for a 1929 edition Arnold Bennett’s book, Elsie and the Child. A close up of the side of a brownstone-style building, seen from the street. Separating the building from the street is a green fence which runs horizontally across the image. At right, a set of white stairs with a black railing leads up to a green door. At top left, the bottom portion of a window with white curtains.
