Collected by Brigadier General Charles Julius Allen (1840-1915, Army Corps of Engineers) or his wife Elizabeth Walbridge Cleveland Allen (1847-1929) when the family lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, from the late 1870s until about 1900; inherited by the Allens' daughter Grace Elizabeth Allen (1886-1985); purchased by MAI from Miss Allen in 1937.
