Summary:
Date range based on the fact that Dewing signs with her maiden name (she and Thomas Dewing were married in 1881). <br>Dewing writes to a Mr. Perry (possibly Oliver Hazard Perry) to discuss her designs for decorative andirons which he has commissioned. She includes sketches of potential designs numbered 1 through 4: a mother and child, a "fire worshipper [sic]", a Japanese woman with a fan; and a cupid holding bellows.
