Catalog Data

Collection Creator:
Lippe, Aschwin, 1914-1988  Search this
Type:
Archival materials
Scope and Contents:
Little remains of whatever research files and notes on East Asia Aschwin Lippe may have collected. Since he would have had access to Metropolitan Museum of Art's reference library, collection material and other resources on East Asian art he may not have needed basic research materials of his own. His publications while at the Met included reviews of books and exhibits and contributions to exhibit and collection catalogs. Material for his contribution to the Chinese Art Treasures Catalog, is in Subseries 1.3 Box 6. That for another major exhibition catalog, Catalogue of the Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting in the Collection of John M. Crawford, is in Subseries 3.2.
