Scope and Contents:
Blind Man Weaving A Basket, 1948. Image of a blind man standing in front of a tub of water with long bundles of straw floating in it. He is holding a woven structure in the tub that will soon be a basket. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1948.
This series of photographs depicts blind South Africans working in an occupational facility in Johannesburg. They are making baskets, tennis nets, and caning chairs.
There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print for reference purposes.
