This picture was taken by Auguste Béchaud ca. 1909 in a Sango village nearby Mobaye in the Oubangui River. A woman is at rest on a wooden bed called krékoi (pronounced "creakwaw" in English). The woman has scarifications over her abdomen and chest. A woman next to her has hair adorned with beads called bayaka.
