Scope and Contents:
Found are materials documenting the development of the Metromedia (Mr. X) art collection. Nearly half of the materials are artist's files containing biographies, correspondence, and scattered clippings, exhibition materials, inventory records, and photographic materials. Many artists files are empty, but have notations about paintings written on the original folders. Also found is a scrapbook with photographs of artwork and publicity clippings; inventory cards; travel files, and an artwork inventory ledger. Many of the same artists are also found in subseries 1.2.

Folders are arranged alphabetically by folder title.

Use of original papers requires an appointment.
