Scope and Contents:
This series includes typescript drafts of articles and lectures by Dwight, primarily about John James Audubon. They include several copies of drafts of "The Personality of John James Audubon," and "Audubon in Philadelphia, 1824," as well as scattered writings by Dwight on other artists, such as Aaron H. Corwine, and notes on index cards for lectures given by Dwight. This series also houses some correspondence related specifically to the publication of Dwight's writings, with publishers such as American Heritage Publishing Co., Inc., and Horizon. Additional related correspondence can be found in Series 3.1.
