Scope and Contents:
The bulk of Cook's papers consist of files relating her exhibition schedule through the 1970s and 1990s. Found are resumes, loan agreements, correspondence, printed materials, scattered photographs, slide lists and price or sales lists. Significant material is found for Cook's affiliation with the Allrich Gallery, B.Z. Wagman Gallery, and Fiberworks, Center for the Textile Arts. Major exhibitions include Cook's annual participation at the Lausanne Biennale, Painted Weavings by Lia Cook and Neda Al Hilali (1980) at Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, and California College of Arts and Crafts faculty art shows, among many others.
Arrangement:
Gallery files are arranged in alphabetical order while exhibition files are arranged in chronological order. Original folder titles were maintained in this series, however, at times they have been edited for clarity. This series is arranged as two subseries. 4.1: Gallery Files 4.2: Exhibition Files
Collection Restrictions:
Use of original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C., Research Center. Use of archival audiovisual recordings and born-digital records with no duplicate copies requires advance notice.
