Scope and Contents:
Biographical materials consist of appointment and address books, curriculum vitae, a fellowship application, a video recording of an awards ceremony at Long Island University, and 24 interviews, six with transcripts. Interviewers include Karl Fortress, Sylvan Cole, and Kitty Gellhorn, who conducted a 9 part interview over the course of two years. There is also a recording of Will Barnet's children interviewing each other in reportage style. Audio and video recordings are on 6 videocassettes (VHS), 1 videocassette (U-matic), 1 videocassette (Betacam), 9 sound tape reels (1/4 in.), and 15 sound cassettes.

Items are arranged by document type. Interviews are filed in chronological order.

Use of original papers requires an appointment. Use of archival audiovisual recordings with no duplicate access copy requires advance notice.
