This accession consists of records that document the International Symposium on Grass Systematics and Evolution held in July 1986, at the National Museum of Natural
History. The Smithsonian was co-sponsor of the event which included an exhibit. Thomas R. Soderstrom was the chief participant and organizer from the Smithsonian Institution.
These records also document the publication of the book (1988) which arose from the Symposium.
