Descriptive Entry:

This accession consists of a reference set of "Gnu Yak Times," a bimonthly employee newsletter of the National Zoological Park. The publication began as the "National Zoological Park Employee Newsletter," was renamed "Zoo Employee Newsletter" in April 1993, and renamed "Gnu Yak Times" beginning with the September-October 1993 issue. Early newsletters are uncredited. The April 1993 newsletter notes that it was written by the Office of Management Services and edited by the Division of Exhibit Interpretation. The June-August 1993 issue does not mention the Office of Management Services but notes that the editorial offices are within the Division of Exhibit Interpretation. The publication includes general news and announcements about the staff, exhibits, grounds, facilities, animals, events, training, and research. Materials include newsletters.
